GLENN BECK ON HOMOSEXUALITY

I can respect the humanity of a person without being forced to validate, sanction and endorse their sexual predilections, and behaviors. While I feel compassion for people caught up in this compulsion, and understand their desire for societal acceptance, and stamp of approval. Some compulsive behaviors are unhealthy, and lead to a shortened life span and therefore should not be encouraged. Should government endorse a behavior that is harmful to those practicing it, and in a larger context to society? And especially one that is not immutable. Equating the behavior of homosexuality with race is insulting to a multitude of people of color.

All of media is doing what Daniel Patrick Moynihan called ... "Defining deviancy down.

Moynihan was an intellectual trailblazer. In 1993, he introduced the concept of "Defining deviancy down." In a widely quoted article, he wrote that each generation adjusts to growth in antisocial and secxual behavior by regularly redefining deviancy and, in effect, pretending nothing is getting worse.

As he summarized it in the language of political science: "I proffer the thesis that, over the past generation … the amount of deviant behavior in American society has increased beyond the levels the community can ‘afford to recognize’ and that, accordingly, we have been re-defining deviancy so as to exempt much conduct previously stigmatized, and also quietly raising the ‘normal’ level in categories where behavior is now abnormal by any earlier standard."

It's none of my business what people do in the privacy of their bedroom, but it most certainly is my business when it comes to who influences my kids ... whats done on the public streets, in the public schools, and public institutions ... just who is pushing their sexuality in peoples faces?

I will treat everyone with respect, but being forced to validate an aberrant sexual behavior is another matter. No one should be forced to validate anyone elses aberrant private sexual appetite. There's a reason it's called "PRIVATE LIFE."

Political Correctness will kill us ... ether through extreme, radical toleration, or an inner moral rot that helped bring the Roman Empire down. America is repeating history, with the same results.
